Evening Stroll

A quiet dinner out with friends last night turned into a type of pub crawl. Pubs in Sydney change their management, decor and clientele so often that you think you're going somewhere and end up somewhere else. The first pub where we intended to have dinner was absolutely jam packed, at 7.30pm the music was so loud you couldn't have a conversation even if you were screaming into each other's faces so we left.

The 2nd pub, an old favourite of some of my friends had a great restaurant - HAD - it no longer serves food.

And so last stop, a real old school pub full of locals and journalists, including an old acquaintence of mine and one of Australia's best B/W artists finally proffered what we were after. With a full belly and a couple of vodka's, home was calling. And thankfully all of this was in walking distance from my bed.

that was badly written and expressed kath if that's how you see it - and i was feeling seedy when i wrote it.

not spinning out about anything really. just that a quiet meal in a pub turned into going to 3 of them to find food, because the 1st one was so loud, over the top loud, not like a pub where you'd have conversation but more like a club. i suppose i associate going to a few pubs in 1 night with having a big night rather than a quiet one. oh god, i'm showing my age and will shut up now.
